Research: which coding-agent CLIs expose a tool schema that a third-party inference backend can actually drive. Family A/B taxonomy, a drivability criterion, a compatibility matrix, and a vendor-neutral reference adapter.
This project studies how different AI coding-agent CLIs expose their tool-use interfaces to inference backends, documents the resulting compatibility landscape, proposes a vendor-neutral interface contract, and ships a small reference implementation that demonstrates the contract. It is research and documentation, with one vendor-neutral reference adapter — not a bypass tool.
