A general assistant can answer a data-structures question correctly and still be useless for teaching: it hands over the conclusion, it points at no page in the textbook, and it leaves nothing behind that a teacher could review. DeepProf is built so those three become checkable properties of the system rather than matters of trust — evidence is locatable, decisions are auditable, the process is replayable.
