AI coding agents are reshaping how software gets built, but the open source maintainers whose code powers this transformation receive no signal when their work is consumed. This document defines ATTRIBUTION.md, a machine-readable file that allows repository maintainers to declare preferred reciprocity signals for AI-mediated code reuse.
