In April 2026 Anthropic released claude-mythos-preview, a model checkpoint trained for autonomous cybersecurity work — vulnerability discovery, patch generation, black-box binary analysis, and long-running offensive-security agents. The companion programme, Project Glasswing, pairs the model with critical-software maintainers to find and disclose vulnerabilities before the same capabilities reach attackers. Anthropic's published Glasswing figures place per-run cost in the $20 – $50 range and report meaningful gains on OpenBSD and CyberGym benchmarks relative to general-purpose baselines.
